Math TAKS is two weeks and 3 days away as I right this post!!
As we prepare for TAKS the next two weeks will be spenting looking indepth at each objective. We will work through problems, find out why each incorrect answer is incorrect and also make sure we know all aspects of our Math charts. Each day students will take a pre-quiz before we begin each lesson. Please encourage your students if they are not clear on a concept to ask questions or come in for tutorials. There are NO stupid questions!! |

Exponent Rules Multipying binomials (FOIL) Factoring Greatest Common Factor

Algebra 1 Students will be working on 4 Corner models and begin systems of equations Homework for Monday Finish Cluck and Shelley questionaire. Tuesday
Study for test over basic graphing Domain and Range define them both Slope and y-intercept from y = mx + B define and know how to graph x-intercept know how to find it on a graph Independent and Dependent definition Identify linear Function - makes a line and passes a vertical line test Negative and postive correlation Ways to find slope from a table, slope formula, count on the graph Name the parent function y=x IF its linear it passes a vertical line test

Progress reports for the 5th six weeks go out today 3/9/10
TAKS tutorials continue this week. Students are required to come in to tutorials for their 3 lowest TAKS objective. See the document link on this page for the break down of the days for TAKS objectives. This week is objective 1-5 after school. Objective 1-5 was also offered in the morning last week. After we get back from Spring Break objectives 6-10 will be offered in the morning the first week and in the afternoon the second week. Please encourage your students to attend. We will be calling students homes who do not attend.
Algebra 2 We will continue with Factoring for the remainder of the week. Any retakes of the pop LOG test are due by today 3/9/10. Students were aware of this since last Wednesday. |

Students will be having a unit 4 test on the 25th and 26th of January. Review's will be handed out the 20th to begin studying for the exam.
Students are encouraged to attend tutorials if they have a question or are struggling with the homework. It is better to come in and get clarification on something they may be unsure of then to wait till it is too late.
Algebra II Students will finish up Unit 7 and begin on Unit 8 Project this six weeks will be population growth. They will need to come to class on Friday (Jan 8th) with 3 countries they would like to research popluations of. Each country chosen must have at least 20 cities with populations. Project will be due February 9th.
